🌿 How Not to Kill a Plant in a Week - A Guide for Total Beginners

You bought a plant. Congratulations!

Now you just have to… not kill her within seven days. Sounds simple? Well, many have fallen before you. But don't worry.

With this guide, both the plant and your hopes will survive.

1. 

Don't buy a demanding prince from the tropics.

For the first time?

Sansevieria, zamioculcas, epipremnum – these are your green starters.

They don't need watering every 10 minutes or talking about emotions.

🪴 Avoid: Calathea, banana plant, ficus lyrena. They're beautiful, but as delicate as Monday morning emotions.

2. 

Earth – not all of it is made of earth.

Buy a ready-made mixture for a given plant (e.g. "for succulents" or "for green plants").

Add expanded clay or choose a pot with a drain.

🚫 NO: planting in any construction material, with plastic from the bottom of the pot and hoping that "it will work out somehow".

Watering – less means life.

Rule: better too little than too much.

Touch the soil with your finger. Dry? Water it. Wet? Leave it alone.

Buy a leaf spray or a long-nosed watering can – it makes a difference!

Light – a plant is not a bat.

Most plants need light. Lots of light.

Don't put them in a dark corner "because it looks nice."

If there's not enough light, buy a plant light. It really works.
